The advantages of microlearning in retail

Retail is an environment where change is a constant factor, with products constantly being refreshed, customers modifying their preferences due to new competitors, and procedures needing to adapt to the incorporation of new technologies. Therefore, it becomes essential to have tools for employees to learn, adapt, and evolve constantly, such as microlearning.

Many retail workers are young individuals who often also study, lacking the time to stay updated on their roles and responsibilities. However, they need to acquire knowledge constantly, reinforce acquired knowledge, and access information about products, new seasons, promotions, etc., quickly and easily.

Why is microlearning ideal in retail? Because many times, workers don’t have a desk, a computer, or the time to complete an extended training course. In fact, they are often in constant motion, attending to the requirements of different customers. Mobile-based microlearning allows employees to have information at their fingertips and learn at their own pace, enhancing their learning experience.

They can access concise and relevant information that is easy to retain and can be applied immediately.

And not only information about the specific products they handle but also sales techniques or the company’s unique identity, unifying the knowledge of workers.

It allows the effective delivery of regulations and safety protocols.

Reduces the learning curve for a new employee’s arrival.

Employees should be segmented into different groups and assigned specific objectives so that they have a sense of achievement of KPIs or eLearning. Gamification does not motivate everyone
